☆ Why is this piece so special? ☆
According to the Huni Kuin myth, the 'Jibóia Sidika' taught women weaving and graphic designs, while the anaconda Yube transmitted to men the knowledge of vines and songs. The designs (kene) are linked to the visions of the nixi pae and carry multiple meanings. The weaving is done with cotton and genipap pigment, and the master of these skills is called ainbu keneya, the "woman of the design," associated with the japim, a bird known for its ability to weave and imitate songs. Each Kusma is born in the time of the forest, in a process that respects natural cycles and the knowledge passed down through generations.
