Nil Morais is a sculptor from Juazeiro do Norte (CE). He works with raw, unpainted wood, with an impeccable finish. The main characters he builds are the bandits Lampião and Maria Bonita and the saint São Jorge. A work of his own, an anatomical heart, was chosen by Chinese artist Ai Weiwei to illustrate the opening invitation for the first major exhibition in Brazil (“Ai Weiwei Raiz”, 2018, São Paulo).
